Meet Riverland Employee Brad Meier!
Brad is Riverland Bank’s Executive Vice President. He grew up in Grinnell, Iowa, and attended Iowa State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance. Brad then attended the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Colorado and was a trustee from 2002–2010. He began his banking career in Dallas, Texas, before moving to Minnesota and joining the Riverland Bank team. Read on to learn more about Brad!
Q. What do you like best about working at Riverland?
A. I enjoy the ability to work closely with each client.
Q. What do you like to do in your free time?
A. I enjoy art. I have taken sculpture classes at Northern Clay Center for 25+ years; I take drawing classes at The Atelier in Minneapolis as well.
In addition to creating art, I enjoy serving the arts community. I serve on the Board of Directors at Northern Clay Center, and I sit on the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD) auction committee.
Q. Do you have a favorite movie?
A. I would say it’s a French film that I saw many years ago, Tous les Matins du Monde. It’s very dramatic and moving, and the instrumental soundtrack is insanely good.
Q. In what ways are you involved in the community?
A. I volunteer on several non-profit boards and committees as well as a few banking/financial service -industry boards and committees. I also provide support to the community through the arts organizations I’m involved in, and I help provide for individuals in marginalized communities.
Q. What is a cause or topic you are passionate about?
A. Equity, inclusion, and diversity in the arts community.
